‘Colour Conversations’ is a group exhibition featuring the work of seven ‘Pure Arts South’ artists inspired by a year of studio meets for art and colour based discourse .
The exhibition includes collaborative works in the form of seven banners or scrolls passed between the group to add, layer and respond to in an improvised way. The group explored both common ground and diverse approaches to colour in these works.
The exhibition will also showcase selected solo pieces in colour from their range of disciplines including painting, drawing, sculpture, textiles and mixed media works.
Exhibiting artists:
Edith Pagh Barton | Susan D'souza | Liz Hammond | Cherie Lubbock | Carolyn Macleod | Ali Rabjohns | Fran White
Workshop:
On the 29th November Edith and fellow artist Liz Hammond will host a Wabi-Sabi inspired collage and handmade book workshop.
Discover the gentle Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi - the art of finding beauty in imperfection, simplicity and the passage of time. This inspiring creative workshop invites you to slow down, reconnect with treasured memories and transform personal papers and photographs into meaningful works of art.
Whether you are an experienced artist or simply enjoy making, this relaxed and supportive workshop will introduce techniques that you can continue exploring at home.
